Bahr, backline, push No. 12/14 Tech past TCU
October 11, 2026 | Women's Soccer
The defender buried her second goal of the season and helped Tech record its first win Fort Worth since 2014
FORT WORTH โ Kylie Bahr's right-footed moment of brilliance combined with a stifling defense effort powered No. 12/14 Texas Tech past TCU 1-0.
With the victory, Texas Tech (9-0-4, 5-0-1 Big 12) closed out its fifth straight-win and seventh in its last eight contests (7-0-1). The Red Raiders were victorious in Ft. Worth for the first time since 2014 and ran their unbeaten streak against TCU to five-straight matches (2-0-3).
The Red Raiders also have also allowed just one total goal in their last five Big 12 contests and are a league-best +10 in the goal differential (12-3).
In her eighth clean sheet of the season, Tech GK Addie Todd made two stops to lower her goals-against-average to 0.46 and bring her save percentage to a Big 12 best .885.
Todd's eight clean sheets tie her with Stephanie Carter (1995) and Madison White (2021) for the eighth-most in a single season in program history.
Sunday's victory also extends a trio of streaks for the Red Raiders who ran their unbeaten streak to 18-straight (11-0-7) contests overall and their in-state unbeaten streak to 22-straight (17-0-5). Only UNCW (23) have a longer unbeaten streak nationally.
The Red Raiders also have not lost in 31-straight contests when scoring (24-0-7) and are 75-4-16 (.874) in their last 95 instances when scoring once.
After a strong first half that featured four quality chances including a Bahr header that was cleared off the line by TCUs backline for a team save at the death of the first half, it didn't take long for Bahr to find her revenge, as the defender buried a right-footed rocket just two minutes and 12 seconds into half two for her second career goal.
The strike came off a strong freekick service from the center circle by Eleanor Hays and a picture-perfect midbox header from Taylor Zdrojewski.
Hays who scored and tallied an assist on Thursday night in Stillwater, recorded her fourth assist this season, while Bahr brought her point total to three for the week after tallying her fifth assist on the season on the opening goal at OSU.
Armed with the 1-0 lead, the Red Raider backline held the Horned Frogs to just three second half shots and six for the contest.
With the victory in Ft Worth Sunday, the Red Raiders recorded their 54th win since the start of the 2023 season, improving to 54-9-16 (.785) over that stretch. Tech is also now 33-3-11 (.819) in league play since 2022, recording the second-most wins in the country in league contests in that span. Tech trails just Michigan State (35) for most league-only wins.
Based on the rest of the league's results, Tech sits in solo first in the competitive Big 12, three points clear (16) of West Virginia, Baylor and Kansas who each have 13 points. Houston sits four points behind the Red Raiders at 12, followed by UCF and BYU at 10.
BYU, who closes the week Monday night in Cincinnati, can draw even with the trio in second place with a victory in the Queen City.
UP NEXT:
The Red Raiders will look to sweep the three-match road trip on Friday night at No. 25 BYU. First touch from Provo is set for 8 p.m. (CT)/7 p.m. (MT).
