51: One of the best and most consistent programs in the country the last four seasons, Tech entersย the seventh week of the 2026 season sitting at 51-9-16 (.787) over the programs last 75 matchesย (since the start of the 2023 season). Only three schools nationally have more wins than Tech overย that span: Stanford (62), Florida State (57), North Carolina (55). The Red Raiders are tied with Missย State (50) and Wake Forest (50). Tech leads the Big 12 over that span.
30: Over the past four conference seasons (2022-26), Tech leads the Big 12 Conference in total wins (30), notching one more win then second-place TCU (29) and four more wins than third-place WVU (26). The Red Raiders are 30-3-11 (.826) in Big 12 play over that span (43 matches) and are the only Big 12 team with three-straight seven-plus wins seasons. Tech's three Big 12 losses are also the fewest in the league, three clear of TCUs six losses. Only Michigan State (34) and Arkansas (31) have more conference wins (same league) since 2023.
52: While putting the ball in the back of the net is the name of the game, scoring twice has beenย critical for the Red Raiders success as since the start of the 2022 season, the Red Raidersย are now 52-0-2 when scoring two goals. When you expand that mark out to the beginning ofย the 2021 season, Tech is 61-2-2 when scoring twice in a match.
LAST TIME OUT:
A trio of second half goals helped No. 25 Texas Tech drop No. 13/8 Colorado 3-1 Sunday afternoon at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
Entering the day having trailed for just three minutes and 34 seconds all season, Texas Tech (6-0-4, 2-0-1 Big 12) conceded first on Sunday afternoon before using the three second half goals to flip a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 victory.
The three goal second half marks the second time this season Tech has scored three times in a period and is the first three goal half against a Big 12 foe since 2021 when the Red Raiders smoked Oklahoma, 7-0. Tech scored four times in the opening half before adding three goals in the second 45.
Down at the break for the first time this season, a pair of sophomores combined for the first goal when a beautiful service from Emma Torres found her classmate Raleigh Greason at the top of the Colorado 18-yard box (8-2-1, 2-1-0 Big 12).
Not trying to do too much, Greason took one dribble and slipped a low shot inside the far post and past a diving Brook Goerish for the equalizer. The goal was her second of the season both in the last three Big 12 matches.
Armed with the momentum, the Red Raiders quickly went on top for good when a 30-yard service from Millie Elwood found a streaking Taylor Zdrojewski who muscled her way past Colorado's Emma Thielbahr and slotted home a diving finish through the legs of Goerish and into the back of the net for her team leading seventh goal of the season.
On top for the first time all day, Tech used a strong run from Sophie Neves in the 70th minute to add a key insurance goal. Streaking across the 18, Neves whipped a ball across the face of the goal toward Zdrojewski. Before the ball could fall to "Z" it ricocheted off Colorado's Faith Leyba and into the net.
Armed with a two-goal lead, the finish was not without controversy, as the Red Raiders had to endure an 88th minute PK attempt that was denied by goalkeeper Addie Todd in a sprawling kick save.
The save from Todd, her eighth of the game, sealed the Red Raiders highest ranked win since 2024 against then No. 12 Oklahoma State in Stillwater (Sept. 22). Todd's eight saves were the most by a Tech GK since 2024 when Faith Nguyen stopped nine shots in the Red Raiders NCAA Tournament Second Round match at No. 2 Duke.
Today's win was the first against CU since 2010 and just the fourth all-time for Tech against CU. The Red Raiders were just 3-12-2 all-time prior to the matchup today.
With the top-25 win, the Red Raiders also defeated a ranked foe for the fourth straight season, and recorded their 51st win since the start of the 2023 season. That is the fourth-most in the country trailing just Stanford (62), Florida State (57), North Carolina (56). Tech is now 51-9-16 (.787).
Tech also recorded its 30th Big 12 win since the start of 2023, tying Tech with TCU for the most in the Big 12 in that span. Tech and TCU have four more wins than WVU (26) the last four years.
In the three-goal performance the Red Raiders also improved to 52-0-2 when scoring twice since 2022 and to 61-2-2 when reaching two goals since 2021.
With the win, Tech also extended its overall unbeaten streak to 15 (8-0-7) dating back to the 3-0 defeat to CU, its State of Texas unbeaten streak to 20 (15-0-5) and its unbeaten streak when scoring to 28 (21-0-7).
