October 01, 2026 | Men's Basketball
LUBBOCK, Texas – ESPN has unveiled its ESPN on ABC lineup for the upcoming college basketball season, a national spotlight of marquee games that will feature Texas Tech at Kansas on Saturday, February 6, 2027 at Allen Fieldhouse. The only matchup between Tech and KU in the regular season will get the national shine with an 11 a.m. tip-off in Lawrence, Kansas and is the only Big 12 game on the ESPN on ABC lineup.
The Red Raiders are 2-1 against Kansas under head coach Grant McCasland after earning wins in his first two seasons and will look to avenge a 64-61 home loss last season. Tech went on the road and earned a 78-73 win over the Jayhawks on March 1, 2025 in their last matchup in Allen Fieldhouse.
The other matchups set for the ESPN on ABC spotlight includes Louisville at Kentucky (Dec. 12), North Carolina at Duke (Feb. 13) and Florida at Arkansas (Feb. 27). In its release, ESPN stated: "Two perennial Big 12 contenders square off in a matchup that could carry major conference championship implications. Texas Tech and Kansas have established themselves among the conference's premier programs, setting the stage for a marquee showdown inside Allen Fieldhouse."
Additional game times and television designations for the Texas Tech basketball schedule will be announced when available.
The Red Raiders are coming off their third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament under McCasland and are set to open the regular season on November 2 against Jackson State at United Supermarkets Arena. The season opener begins a five-game home stand to start the season, including a marquee matchup against Illinois on November 10 at the USA.
