Previously in Tech softball:
- The Red Raiders earned their fourth Big 12 series sweep of the season after taking down Houston. Tech also made program history as they recorded its 14th Big 12 win, most in a single season. Tech's current 11-game win streak is the longest in program history since the 2019 season.
- NiJaree Canady did it all on Friday night against Houston. The junior threw a complete game allowing just two runs while also driving in all three Red Raider runs with a two-run homer in the second inning and a solo homer in the fourth inning. Canady know leads the team in ERA and SLG % this season boasting a 0.72 ERA and is slugging .684.
- Senior outfielder Demi Elder has been a huge lift for the Red Raiders offense since returning to the starting lineup. Since Elder's return the team is 11-0 and she has reached base safely in all 11 of those games while batting .444 so far this season.
- Tech's defense has settled in nicely since Big 12 play and lead the conference with a .982 fielding percentage in conference play. Tech also leads the Big 12 in batting average (.339) and ERA (1.44) in Big 12 play.
- The Wildcats lead the series 11-1 all-time.
- Tech's only win against Arizona came in 1998 when the Wildcats were ranked No. 1 in the country.
- Arizona has won 10 straight since suffering that loss in '98, but the schools haven't play each other since 2011.
- Freshman shortstop Hailey Toney is one of just five freshmen shortstops to start every game for their team this season and the only one from a power four school. Toney had a streak of 20 games where she reached safely while batting .320 with four homers, 22 RBI and a team-high 10 doubles.
- Fellow freshman Bailey Lindemuth has started 41 of her 43 games at third base with the other two starts coming from in the circle. Tech is in a rare class of schools to have both a starting third baseman and starting shortstop that are freshmen - positions that are normally held by players with several years of experience.
- Chloe Riassetto has been brilliant this season. Through Big 12 play the junior lefty is second in ERA (0.97), fourth in opponent batting average (.182), first in runs allowed (3), hits allowed (14) and earned runs allowed (3) while also ranking third in walks allowed (7). She has been the perfect complement to NiJaree Canady in the circle.
- Texas Tech partnered with its website provider - SideArm - to create a promotional website featuring the superstar pitcher. It holds host to all of Canady's accolades and stats as she continues her incredible career.
