LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 13/14 Texas Tech (24-9, 5-1) will head to Lawrence to take on Kansas (14-12, 3-3) this weekend beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday at Arrocha Ballpark followed by a 2 p.m. start on Saturday and a 12 p.m. start on Sunday. NiJaree Canady returns to her home state where she was named the 2024 USA Today Kansas Woman of the Year last month.
The Red Raiders are coming off a 1-2 weekend against No. 10 South Carolina. Tech's offense struggled to find a rhythm in the first two games but looked to back on track in the series finale as they pulled off a comeback from down 5-0 to take the game 6-5.
The Jayhawks lost their series to Utah last weekend and will face rival Missouri later today before preparing for the Red Raiders.

Previously in Tech softball:
- The Red Raiders earned a big win on Sunday when they came back from down 5-0 to defeat No. 10/11 South Carolina. Although they lost the series, the team's RPI jumped four spots to No. 19, and they will look to carry the momentum from the comeback into this weekend against the Jayhawks.
- NiJaree Canady was named the 2024 USA Today Kansas Woman of the Year early this year and will return to her home state where she said it will be like a "homecoming" for her as much of her family and friends are still in the area. The Topeka native has been excepÂtional this season ranking No. 3 in the country in ERA and No. 4 in strikeouts. This week Tech released a Red Raider Life episode featuring the star pitcher that can be watched here.
- Alexa Langeliers was one of the lone offensive bright spots for Tech this past weekend. The senior hit .556 against the Gamecocks with five hits including a two-run double in game three to spark the comeback. Langeliers is now riding a 10-game on-base streak.
- Tech had four freshmen heavily involved in the lineup this past weekend and one freshman pitcher start. The team's youth is eviÂdent as Hailey Toney and Bailey Lindemuth have started every game this season, Toney at short and Lindemuth at third.
- Kansas leads the series 34-42 all time.
- Tech has won 6 of the last 10 meetings between the two teams including a 2-1 series win over them last season in Lubbock.
