Tech gets two three-run innings to complete the 6-5 comeback against No. 10/11 South Carolina

COLUMBIA, South Carolina – No. 12 Texas Tech (24-9, 5-1) got back in the win on Sunday with a 6-5 comeback victory over No. 10/11 South Carolina (24-6, 2-4) on Sunday afternoon. Alexa Langeliers led the way on offense, going 2-for-4 with two RBI thanks to a two-run double in the fourth.

Hailey Toney also had a two-hit game and reached a third time after getting hit by a pitch. Toney scored two runs and drove in a run as well.

Bailey Lindemuth, Kiley Huffman and Demi Elder all picked up an RBI as Elder made her first start of the season.

Samantha Lincoln started the game and improved her record to 5-2 after going 4.0 innings and striking out three batters while allowing just one earned run. NiJaree Canady came in in relief and threw the final 2.0 innings, striking out four batters and allowing no hits.

The first inning was all Gamecocks as they scored four unearned runs, capitalizing on two Red Raider errors after Lincoln got the first two outs quickly.

South Carolina added one more in the third to make it a 5-0 game going into the fourth.

Tech's bats got going in the fourth as Huffman recorded a SAC fly and Langeliers drove in two runs with a double down the left field line to make it 5-3.

Lincoln put another zero on the board and Tech used small ball to get take the lead as Lindemuth and Elder laid down beautiful bunts to allow their teammates to score from third.

Canady stepped into the circle and allowed just one base runner on a hit by pitch but got the next batter via strikeout and then forced a double play to get into the next inning. Canady then struck out the side to secure the win.

The game ended after the top of the 7^th inning due to the drop dead time rule which is agreed upon by both teams before the game.

UP NEXT: Tech will remain on the road as they head to Lawrence to take on Kansas in a Big 12 matchup.
