Tech to face North Texas before Texas A&M Invitational
LUBBOCK, Texas – Fresh off their 7-0 home stand, the No. 13 Red Raiders will be back on the road to face North Texas tomorrow at 2 p.m. before heading to College Station to play in the Texas A&M Invitational.
The Mean Green (12-2) have had a solid start to its season and will host Tech in its home opener.
Tech will then face Idaho State and Princeton on Friday at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., respectively followed by Saturday matchups against Texas State and No. 5/6 Texas A&M at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The Red Raiders will conclude the road trip with a 12:30 p.m. Sunday game against the Aggies.
Previously in Tech softball:
Freshman Bailey Lindemuth made her debut in the circle last weekend against Detroit Mercy and UTEP. The everyday third baseÂman was incredibly efficient, needing just 93 pitches over her 11.0 innings of work as she allowed just four hits and one earned run over her two games.
The long ball finally got going for the Red Raiders during the JeanÂnine McHaney Memorial Classic. They came into to the tournament having just two but now sit at 14 after a strong weekend. Freshmen Hailey Toney and Bailey Lindemuth each recorded their first career home runs and did so going back-to-back in the seventh against UDM on Feb. 21.
Alana Johnson felt right at home at Rocky Johnson Field, cranking a grand slam in two separate games. Her second grand slam came against (RV) Indiana with the game tied at 1-1 in the fifth to break it open and secure the win.
Lauren Allred earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors after a stelÂlar performance this past weekend. She slashed .476/.1.143/.538 with 10 hits, 11 runs, 12 RBI, two doubles and three homers. Allred totaled 11 total bases against Detroit Mercy, the most by a Red Raider since 2018.
Weekend Info:
Only games involving Texas A&M will be streamed on SEC Network +. All games will have a live stats link.
