Red Raiders end fall season at ITA Conference Masters

SAN DIEGO -Â The Texas Tech duo of Niksa Arsic and Thiago Guglieri wrapped up competition at the ITA Conference Masters tournament over the weekend.

Arsic and Guglieri opened doubles play with a solid victory over Belmont's Sabi Roi and Stefan Vedoveli, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (8), in the Round of 32 before falling to the No.64-ranked duo of Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak of Middle Tennessee, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (8), in their second tiebreaker of the competition.

The Tech tandem opened the fall slate with a statement win over No. 25 Connor Smillie and Jakub Vrba of Arkansas, setting the tone for the season. They followed that up with wins against No. 80 Enrique Pena and Andreas Scott of North Florida, and a solid victory over Tennessee's Alejandro Moreno and Piotr Siekanowicz

Arsic and Guglieri also recorded notable wins against tough opponents from Baylor and Arizona, proving their consistency across different tournaments. Their best showing came at the ITA Texas Regional Championships, where the Red Raider duo made it to the finals before falling in the championship to No.28-ranked Baylor's Zsombor Velcz and Connor Van Schalkwyk in a close 6-3, 7-6 (4) battle. During regionals, they earned wins over UT Arlington, No. 75 Rice, Texas and Texas A&M–Corpus Christi.
