LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech cross country team closes out the regular season at the annual Arturo Barrios Invite hosted by Texas A&M at the Watts Cross Country Course.

The men's 8k is scheduled to kick off the meet at 8:30 a.m., while the women's 6k will begin right after at 9:15 a.m. The meet will consist of 40 teams and about 800 entries overall.
Friday's race will mark the second race in the state of Texas for the Red Raiders since their home meet in Lubbock just over a month ago. Besides that, Tech has traveled to New Mexico four times and Indiana once.
After taking a break last week, Ernest Cheruiyot and Juliet Cherubet will be back in the mix as they look for their final tune-up before Big 12s. Cheruiyot earned USTFCCCA National of the Athlete of the Week honors two weeks ago after winning the Joe Piane Invite. Meanwhile, Cherubet took runner-up honors.
The Big 12 Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Baylor this year at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course on Friday, Nov. 1.
