Lady Raiders Stumble Against Oklahoma State

Texas Tech falls at OSU, 75-62
STILLWATER, Okla. – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders couldn't fight off the Oklahoma State Cowgirls as they fell, 75-62, in one of the final road games of the season.

Texas Tech (12-15, 4-12 Big 12) split the series with Oklahoma State (15-12, 5-11 Big 12), 1-1, both winning on their home courts.

The Cowgirls opened the game on a 17-7 first quarter, scoring three three-pointers in the first five minutes. Senior Ivonne CookTaylor put the Lady Raiders within striking distance with back-to-back buckets to make it 19-11 after the first 10 minutes.

OSU extended its lead with a 19-14 second quarter, taking a 38-25 lead into intermission.

The Lady Raiders came out fighting after the break and cut the Cowgirls lead down to seven with back-to-back threes from Guirantes and Recee' Caldwell. It was all Cowgirls from there.

Atleast two Lady Raiders have scored double-digit points in 25 of the 27 games this season and 15 straight. Freshman Arella Guirantes led the Lady Raiders with 15 points, marking her first double-digit game since scoring 11 points at Oklahoma on Feb. 11. Guirantes also tallied six rebounds, two blocks and a steal in tonight's game.

Senior Ivonne CookTaylor followed in her 15th double-digit game of the season as she scored 14 points.

The Lady Raiders travel to No. 3 Baylor on Saturday for the final road test of the season. Tipoff is set for noon on FOX Sports Southwest.
