LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders return home to the United Supermarkets Arena as they host New Mexico for a 2 p.m. bout on Sunday.

The Lady Raiders enter the matchup after falling 98-90 to No. 24 Texas A&M in a thrilling OT game. Freshman Arella Guirantes made a jumper at the buzzer to tie the game at 83 and force the overtime period. Sophomore guard Recee' Caldwell scored a career-high 38 points, becoming the first Lady Raider since Alesha Robertson in 2004 to score more than 35 points.

The Lady Raiders opened the 2016-17 season with a 90-80 win over North Dakota last Sunday.

The Lobos enter the matchup with a 2-0 record. New Mexico defeated in-state rival, New Mexico State, 84-55 in a midweek contest.

Sunday's game marks the first meeting between the two squads under Head Coach Candi Whitaker. The Lady Raiders lead the all-time series, 14-3. The last meeting between the two was Nov. 13, 2013 when the Lady Raiders defeated New Mexico, 64-56, in Lubbock.

New Mexico won its season opener against Fairleigh Dickinson, 83-56. The Lobos enter Sunday's game after defeating in-state rival New Mexico State, 84-55.
The Lady Raiders scored 90 points for the second consecutive game at No. 24 Texas A&M on Thursday. Texas Tech forced overtime when freshman Arella Guirantes hit a buzzer beater to tie the game 83-83 at the end of regulation. Sophomore Recee' Caldwell scored a career-high 38 points. Junior Jada Terry recorded her first double-double of the season with a career-high 24 points and 11 rebounds. She also tallied two blocks.
The Lady Raiders earned a 90-80 win over North Dakota in the season opener (Nov. 13). Caldwell led the team with 28 points and seven assists. Nine of the 10 Lady Raiders who played against North Dakota scored at least two points while all 10 saw double-digit minutes.
The Lady Raiders lead the Big 12 in scoring offense (90.0) ahead of Baylor who has averaged 87.5 points per game. The Lady Raiders also lead the Big 12 in field goal percentage (51.8%) and 3-point percentage (47.1%).
Caldwell is the leading scorer in the Big 12, averaging 33.0 points per game. She also leads the league in 3-PTs made (12 - 6.0). Her 38 points vs. Texas A&M is the most by any player in the conference.

The Lady Raiders will travel to Coral Gables, Fla., for the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 25-27. Texas Tech is set to face Fordham in the first game of the tournament and will take on Grambling State or Miami in the second game of the tournament.
