Temple finds his way into Big 12
November 19, 2015 | Men's Basketball

At 6 feet 10 inches and 235 pounds, Matt Temple appears destined to play the big man role on a collegiate basketball team. Despite his towering posture, however, Temple subtly journeyed toward earning a roster spot on Texas Tech's basketball team for the 2015-2016 season.
Since finishing his senior season at Wichita Falls' Rider High School, Temple spent his first two years at Tech playing pickup and intramural basketball games, just a parking lot away from Tech's home court, at the Robert H. Ewalt Student Recreation Center.
By September of last year's fall semester, Temple began to seriously train with his roommate every day for a potential tryout. Aside from regular pickup games, Temple followed a weightlifting regimen for the first time, something he acknowledges as what made him prepared for a tryout.
