December 18, 2014
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Tennis will host s a series of four camps during June and July, as the dates were finalized this week.
Open to ages eight through 18, Texas Tech Tennis Camp features both on-campus resident and commuter options and is available to all skill levels.
For those that have participated in the past, the format has changed with the sessions running Sunday through Wednesday. The first camp is slated for June 14-17, followed by June 21-24 and June 28 to July 1. The fourth and final session is slated for July 12-15.
The camp is led by Red Raider head coach Tim Siegel and Lady Raider head coach Todd Petty, who are arguably the two most successful tennis coaches in program history. Siegel has led Texas Tech to 14 NCAA Championship appearances, while Petty has taken the Lady Raiders to three straight NCAA appearances.
With one of the highest student-to-teacher ratios, the camp fills its slots on a first come, first serve basis. Sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Instructors include the Texas Tech coaching staff, as well as both former All-American and All-Conference performers, as well as a few select players from both Texas Tech teams.
