BUSTIN SETS CAREER FIELD GOALS RECORD
Senior placekicker Ryan Bustin set the Texas Tech career field goals record with a 40-yarder in the second quarter to pull Tech to within four points (14-10). The field goal gave him 49 in his career and he moved past former record holder Alex Trilica who kicked 48 field goals (2004-07). He tacked on the 50th FG of his career late in the third quarter when he nailed a 25-yarder.
- Bustin became only the second kicker in school history (Alex Trlica - 233) to register 150 career PAT's. His 150th career PAT moved him into sole possession of second place in school history for career PATs made.
MAHOMES BREAKS BIG 12 FRESHMAN RECORD
Freshman quarterback Patrick Mahomes (30-of-56, 598 yards, 6 TD, 1 INT) broke a Big 12 freshman record with 598 passing yards - a record that was set just last season by teammate Davis Webb when he passed for 462 yards at West Virginia.
- Mahomes became the second freshman in school history to pass for over 300 yards in three straight games (Davis Webb, 4 - 2013).
- Mahomes owns a school freshman record throwing at least four touchdowns in three consecutive games.
- Mahomes the last three games against Texas, Oklahoma and Baylor: 80-of-150, 1,304 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
- Set AT&T Stadium records for a college game with 6 touchdown passes and 598 passing yards.
- His 598 passing yards rank as the 16th best single-game performance in NCAA history and the 5th best in Big 12 history.
- Passed for 598 yards, which ranks fourth in Texas Tech history for a single-game... is the most passing yards by a Red Raider since 2007 (G. Harrell, 646 yards).

THREE RED RAIDERS POST OVER 100 RECEIVING YARDS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2005
Texas Tech had three players with over 100 receiving yards for the first time since 2005... Jakeem Grant (150), Bradley Marquez (130) and DeAndre Washington (107) all had over 100 yards today... The last time was when four Red Raiders went over 100 receiving yards: Joel Filani (255), Taurean Henderson (118), Roberton Johnson (107) and Jarrett Hicks (105) all had over 100 against Kansas State in Lubbock in 2005.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
- Junior Pete Robertson put an end to Baylor's first offensive drive of the game with his 11th sack of the season. The sack moved him into a tie for fifth place on the single-season sacks list at Texas Tech and a tie for ninth on the career list.
- Junior defensive lineman Branden Jackson picked up his 100th career tackle in the first quarter.
- Junior Jakeem Grant scored the first touchdown of the game for Texas Tech (27-yard reception) and that marked his seventh of the season.
- Bradley Marquez' first catch of the game (midway through 2nd quarter) marked his 150th career reception. In addition, Marquez now has at least one catch in 41 of 43 career games. He later caught the second TD pass of the game on that drive and that pulled Tech to within four at 21-17. It marked his eighth TD catch of the season.
- Dylan Cantrell hauled in a career-long 40-yard catch late in the third quarter. His previous career long was a 39 yard catch earlier this season against Oklahoma.
- Sophomore receiver Devin Lauderdale hauled in a 48-yard TD pass late in the third quarter to cut the Baylor lead to 45-27. The touchdown reception was his seventh of the season... Lauderdale has averaged 51 yards per touchdown reception this season.
- Marquez caught his second touchdown of the game on a 40-yard pass from Mahomes to cut Baylor's lead to nine points (45-34) with 11:39 to play.
- DeAndre Washington recorded a career-long reception of 49 yards on a TD pass from Mahomes to bring Tech within five points, 45-40, with 8:13 to play... Washington finished with six receptions (matched career high) for a career-high 107 receiving yards (1st career 100-yard receiving performance).
- Marquez tied a career-high with three touchdown receptions - his third was a 40-yard reception cutting Baylor's lead to 48-46 with 1:42 left in the game.
TEAM NOTES
- Texas Tech extended its school record consecutive game scoring streak with Jakeem Grant's 27-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. Tech has now scored in 219 straight games dating back to Oct. 25, 1997.
- Texas Tech's 712 yards of total offense rank eighth in school history for a single game - and its most since 2009 (739 vs. Kansas State).
- Texas Tech's 609 passing yards rank fifth in school history for a single-game and its most since 2007 (646 at Oklahoma State).
- Texas Tech tallied 712 yards of total offense, the Red Raiders have now posted 325 total yards in 40 straight games (longest active streak in FBS).
- Texas Tech recorded 31 first downs - the Red Raiders have now posted at least 20 first downs in 21 of the last 22 games.
