TEXAS TECH NOTES
? Texas Tech improved to 3-0 all-time when hosting the opening round of the NCAA Championship. The Red Raiders are outscoring opponents by a combined score of 13-0 in those matches.
? Texas Tech improved to 3-1-1 all-time in NCAA Championship matches.
? Texas Tech has now scored at least two goals in each of its five NCAA Championship matches in school history. The eight goals are Tech's most ever in a tournament match.
? Texas Tech has recorded a shutout in each of its three NCAA Championship matches at home.
? Texas Tech is now 2-0 all-time against Prairie View A&M as it was the first meeting between the two schools since the Red Raiders scored a 10-0 victory in 2006.
? Texas Tech improved to 4-0 all-time in matches against the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
? Texas Tech's eight goals were its most ever in a NCAA Championship match. The Red Raiders finished two goals shy of the NCAA record for a tournament match (record set by Texas A&M in 2004).
? Texas Tech's eight goals were its most since also scoring eight against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Oct. 6, 2013.
Janine Beckie
? Beckie recorded her first career hat trick in the rout - all three of which that came in the first 22 minutes of the match.
? Beckie now has 16 goals this year which ranks second all-time in Texas Tech single-season history. She trails Frantz' school record of 18 goals from the 1996 season.
? Beckie moved her career goal total to 42 in the rout, snapping the Texas Tech career record of 41 in the process that was previously set by Frantz. Beckie came into the match with 39 career goals.
? Of the 42 goals scored in Beckie's career, eight of those have come in NCAA Championship matches, the most for any Red Raider in school history.
? Beckie also added an assist in the victory as she ended with seven total points in just 24 minutes played. Her seven points are the third-most ever in a match by a Red Raider. It marked the most points in a match for a Red Raider since Chessa Purser recorded a school record 11 in 2006 against Prairie View A&M.
? Beckie now has 36 total points this year which is eight shy of Frantz' single-season school record from 1996. She trails Frantz by 11 points for the career record as Beckie now has 97 in almost three full seasons.
Ashley Casey
? Casey recorded the first multiple-goal performance of her career as she found the back of the net in the 21st and 51st minutes. Her four points also marked a career high for Casey, who now has three goals in her career, all that have come this season.
? Casey attempted six shots, four of which that were on goal, marking a career high.
Maddy Crabtree
? Crabtree scored her first goal of the season in the 63rd minute and then added another goal in the 66th for her first career multiple-goal performance.
? Crabtree's four shot attempts matched her career high set in 2013 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Caity Heap
? Heap scored the fourth goal of the season while adding two assists in the victory. Her four points and two assists matched her career high set previously against Arkansas-Pine Bluff last season and earlier this year against UC Riverside.
? Heap and fellow teammate Meagan McCullough are the only Red Raiders in school history to record two or more assists in a NCAA Championship match.
Meagan McCullough
? McCulough recorded two assists in the match, giving her six now on the year which moves her into the top 10 in Texas Tech single-season history. She is tied for eighth all-time with Shannon Brooks (1995), Lauren Yelinek (2008), Conner Williams (2009), Jessica Disabella (2010) and Jaelene Hinkle (2013).
? McCullough and fellow teammate Caity Heap are the only Red Raiders in school history to record two or more assists in a NCAA Championship match.
Alex Marmureanu
? Marmureanu recorded her first career assist when the freshman found Maddy Crabtree in the 63rd minute. It was her third point of the season.
Lauren Watson
? Watson recorded two saves in the shutout, her ninth of the season. She now ranks second all-time in Texas Tech single-season with eight shutouts, six shy of former teammate Victoria Esson's total from 2013.
