Texas Tech Softball Announces 2011 Fall Schedule

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech softball coach Shanon Hays announced the program's fall schedule Thursday as the Red Raiders will play four doubleheaders during the months of September and October.
The Red Raiders, who begin team practices on Monday, open the fall against Odessa College on Sept. 24 before returning to the diamond a few days later to face Howard on Sept. 27.
After a week off, Tech will face Western Texas College on Oct. 5 before closing the fall against Midland College on Oct. 13. All games will be played at Rocky Johnson Field.
The Red Raiders return most of their roster from the 2011 squad that advanced to the championship game of the NCAA Tucson Regional. Hays brings back 15 letterwinners from that team, eight of which that are seniors.
In the offseason, Hays also added eight newcomers, including transfer Melissa Ryba, who sat out the 2011 season because of NCAA transfer rules.

Sept. 24 vs. Odessa College (DH) - 10 a.m.
Sept. 27 vs. Howard College (DH) - 2:30 p.m.
Oct. 5 vs. Western Texas (DH) - 2:30 p.m.
Oct. 13 vs. Midland College (DH) - 2:30 p.m.
