LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Vitor Manzini's run towards the main draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships came up short today in the final qualifying round held in Tulsa, Okla.
"Vitor had a good run in the tournament and I am proud of the way he competed in every match," assistant coach Marcello Ferreira said. "Today he just played a guy who was superior throughout the match."
Manzini dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to California's Ben LcLachlan in the third qualifying round of the All-American Championships.
Gonzolo Escobar will start play in the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. CST. Manzini will join Escobar in doubles competition in the main draw tomorrow as well.
