Red Raiders Sit In Ninth Place Heading Into Final Round

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's golf team finished the second round of action three strokes ahead of yesterday's opening round total but still managed to fall two spots down the leaderboard as the Red Raiders sit in ninth place heading into tomorrow's final round of the 2010 PING/Golfweek Preview at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.
Senior Nils Floren turned in his best performance of the season so far as he led Tech in the second round with a one-under-par 71. The Sweden native jumped up the leaderboard from 34th place to 13th place heading into the final round tomorrow morning.
Fellow teammate Will Griffin remains tied for 31st place overall as he finished with a four-over 76 in the second round while Monday's round also saw senior Matt Smith slide down the leaderboard from eighth place to 36th place following a six-over-par performance for the day.
Tech rounded out the scoring card as Tyler Weworski will head into tomorrow's last round in 50th place while redshirt freshman Chandler Rusk follows closely behind in a tie for 54th place.
Oklahoma State is holding steady at the number one spot heading into tomorrow's finale while in-state rivals Georgia and Georgia Tech find themselves in a tie for second place and only one stroke behind the Cowboys.
