Texas Tech player quotes
Mike Singletary On being back in the win column "We needed that one. It was a good win right before break. It was good win to show us that we can finish games."
On the play of Brad Reese "He was great! He just flies around everywhere and he's just so athletic. He comes down crashing boards and making lay-ups. He does everything we need and does everything we ask him to do and he can do it every night. He's a great player and teammate."
On winning before winter break "I just think we just hit a little rough patch and we've played some tough teams. We haven't been playing up to our potential and that starts on defense with everyone. Once we start playing defense, then we are a solid team. Our offense will come but it always starts with defense and getting stops."
Wally Dunn On getting more playing time against UTA "It's great. Sometimes you don't want to be the guy the coaches never talk to in practice because that means you can't help a team out that much, so you want the coaches to get on you when you make a mistake or when you aren't working hard. You know that it's good if they are getting on you."
Brad Reese On playing guard more than normal "Coaches ask me to do things and I just do whatever I need to do. I just wanted to put pressure on the ball and make smart plays and let John get off the ball some where he could cut some."
On the play of Wally Dunn "He's the hardest worker every day in practice so I know what he can do. He's a great player and teammate. Plus, he does all the things we need to do to become a strong team, so I love having him on the team."
Texas Tech Head Coach Pat Knight On the play of Brad Reese "He just played hard tonight. He was getting rebounds and we have had a problem with that especially on the defensive end. Brad did a really good job of that and Mike Singletary did also. Brad has shown cases of being able to do that so it's good for him to get a double-double . Now we have to stay on him so he will play like that when conference starts."
On getting a win before winter break "It's certainly a confidence builder and we've taken our licks. Now the players get three days to get away and be with family and they can relax with a win. We have three more games before conference play starts.
On Brad Reese being the most consistent player "Yes, I'd say so. He's done a good job all year with his overall effort and from a stats stand point he has been the most consistent player for us. His effort has been great and he just goes to work each practice. Not a lot of people know he just graduated so that's a great thing for Brad and it shows that not only did he get it done on the court but in the classroom as well."
