
Escobar's Run Ends in Quarterfinals

LUBBOCK, TX - Gonzalo Escobar's run at the USTA/ITA Indoor Championships in Flushing, New York, came to an end Friday evening with a loss to Florida's Alexandre Lacroix, 6-3, 6-3.
Coach Tim Siegel stated, "Gonzalo's play over the last two weeks proved he belongs with the top players in the country. To win the regional singles title and make the quarterfinals at the indoor championships is something no other Red Raider has done."
Red Raiders Ryan Ybarra and Raphael Pfister played singles and doubles at the Texas Invitational in Austin. Both lost their opening singles matches before moving to consolation play. Pfister won his consolation match and will continue playing on Saturday. In doubles play, Ybarra and Pfister won their Round of 32 match and then dropped their next match.
The Texas Invitational is the final Red Raider match of the fall campaign.
