
Texas Tech Seeks Fifth Home Win

LUBBOCK, TX - The Texas Tech Red Raiders seek their fifth win of the season when they take on the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts on Tuesday evening at the United Spirit Arena.
Tuesday's 7:00 p.m. game against the Golden Eagles is the first meeting between the two teams since Texas Tech's 100-98 overtime win on Dec. 21, 2000.
ORU opened their season with two losses on the road and a loss at home. The Golden Eagles lost at Missouri State in their season-opener, 61-78, and at Tulsa, 68-83. They dropped their first game at home to Indiana State, 69-74. ORU has won their last two outings; 86-60 over UALR and at Utah, 78-70.
After five games, ORU has averaged 72.4 points per game while allowing their opponents 73.0 points per game. The Golden Eagles have three players averaging double figures for the season. Dominique Morrison tops his squad with 17.4 points per game. Warren Niles follows with 15.8 points per outing. Steven Roundtree adds 12.4 points per game, and he leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per contest.
After sub-par shooting in their two losses at the South Padre Invitational, the Red Raiders look to regain the form that carried them to four home wins at the United Spirit Arena. The Red Raiders lost their opening SPI game to Saint Mary's (CA) on Friday, 68-88, after shooting .348 in the first half. The Red Raiders outscored the Gaels in the second half, 45-41, but were unable to comeback from the first half deficit.
Robert Lewandowski registered his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds against the Gaels. Brad Reese led Tech in scoring with 13 points. Mike Singletary and John Roberson each added 11 points.
In Saturday's SPI consolation game against South Florida, Texas Tech made 8-of-23 FG attempts (.348) as they did in Friday's game, but the Red Raiders held a 23-19 edge over the Bulls at the half. USF was 6-of-19 from the field (.316) for the half.
In the second half, the Bulls found two players on their bench with hot hands. After combining to score 7 points in the first half, Ron Anderson and Shaun Noriega were both perfect from the field and the free throw line in the second half. Anderson was 3-3 of from the field and 6-of-6 at the FT line. Noriega was 2-2 from the field (both 3-pointers) and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Their combined 22 points in the second half gave the Bulls the win, 64-61.
John Roberson topped Tech scorers with 16 points. Mike Singletary added 11 points. Robert Lewandowski had 8 points and 9 rebounds against the South Florida Bulls. For his SPI efforts, Robert was selected to the South Padre Island Invitational All-Tournament team.
Texas Tech has five players averaging double figures for the season. John Roberson leads the squad with 13.1 points per game. David Tairu is next with 12.4 points per game. Brad Reese and Robert Lewandowski each add 11.6 points per outing. Mike Singletary drops in 10.4 points per game.
