LUBBOCK, TX - Texas Tech men's tennis coach Tim Siegel announced Wednesday that Chase Curry has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Red Raiders beginning with the 2011-12 season.
Curry, a Wichita Falls native, is currently ranked by Tennis Recruiting Network as the No. 4 player in Texas and the No. 39 player nationally. He has been ranked as high as No. 1 in Texas, No.8 nationally, and No. 1 nationally in doubles.
"We're very excited to have Chase join our Red Raider team next year," Siegel said. "I am very confident he will help us with singles and doubles. He is a great all around player and has the tools to become a terrific player. Chase is someone who will contribute right away in both singles and doubles as evidenced by his state and national rankings. He is not only a very talented tennis player, but more importantly, he is an extremely hard worker and a terrific young man."
The Red Raiders begin the 2010-11 season Jan. 22 in Las Vegas, NV, against UC-Irvine.
