
Vitor Manzini Advances to Third Round at ITA

LUBBOCK, TX - Sophomore Vitor Manzini won two matches on Saturday and advanced to the third round of prequalifying singles at the 2010 D'Novo/ITA Men's Tennis All-American Championships in Tulsa.
In his opening match, the Sao Paulo, Brazil, native defeated Billy Federhofer of Florida, 6-4, 0-6, 6-2. Manzini stopped his next opponent, Virginia Tech's Patrick Daciek, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
"Other than the second set in my first match, I was pleased with my play today," commented Manzini. "Now it's time to rest and then get ready to play on Sunday."
The Red Raider faces Air Force's Lucas Marin at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Marin stopped OU's Jacob Straus in his second match on Saturday, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, to set up the meeting with Manzini.
In prequalifying singles, players must win four rounds to advance to Qualifying.
The University of Tulsa hosts the tournament for the fourth-straight year and for the sixth year overall. The event takes place at Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus.
