LUBBOCK, TX - Texas Tech men's tennis head coach Tim Siegel and assistant coach Marcelo Ferreira volunteered their teaching skills with a much younger group of tennis players as they spent the day at Murfee Elementary School with Taunya Randolph's classes.
"The students have really been looking forward to another day with the Texas Tech tennis coaches," remarked Taunya Randolph. "Some of them even decided to bring their own racquets."
Siegel and Ferreira spent the day teaching, encouraging, and demonstrating tennis skills to each class.
"This is the third year that Marcelo and I have spent the day with the Murfee Elementary students," smiled Tim Siegel. "It's a great school, and we really enjoyed working with everyone."
At the end of each class, the young tennis hopefuls were given a Texas Tech backpack.
Giving back to the community is an important part of Texas Tech tennis, and this clinic at the elementary school was exciting and enjoyable for each of the students.
