Promotional Nights Scheduled for Basketball Games

LUBBOCK, Texas - Fans are encouraged to head to the United Spirit Arena this Thurs., Dec. 3, when the undefeated Texas Tech men's basketball team (7-0) faces No. 10 Washington at 6 p.m. in the Big 12/Pac-10 Challenge and when the women's basketball team plays New Mexico on Sat., Dec. 5.
Tech's seven-game win streak is the best start the Red Raiders have had since becoming a member of the Big 12 Conference during the 1996-97 season. The 1995-96 squad opened with seven wins in its final season in the Southwest Conference.
It's Volunteer Appreciation Night and Texas Tech University Faculty/Staff Night. Logon to www.texastech.com/promotions to print the promotional flyers to redeem on game day. Fans can also bring a new, unwrapped toy for a complimentary general admission ticket. All donated toys benefit the Lubbock area Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.
Then join the Lady Raiders on Sat., Dec. 5, when they take on rival New Mexico at 2 p.m.
Texas Tech faculty and staff can again take advantage of a special ticket offer on Saturday. It's also LISD Kids Day. All LISD kids will receive free admission with a paying adult. Tech Athletics will be distributing Raider Red bookmarks and game coupons courtesy of Main Event. The school that brings the most kids will receive a special lunch with Raider Red and the Texas Tech cheer and pom squads. Parents are encouraged to visit www.texastech.com/promotions and print off the promotional flyer for this event. Lubbock youth basketball participants are also invited to attend. The first 50 youth basketball participants who present their flyer at the main ticket window on game day will receive a wristband to participate in a postgame shoot-around and meet and greet with the Lady Raiders.
