
LADY RAIDERS JUMP UP 10 SPOTS IN RANKINGS

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Lady Raiders cross country team moved up 10 spots to No. 20 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coach Association rankings after a dominating performance at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree this past weekend.
The Lady Raiders started last week ranked No. 30 before heading into the Cowboy Jamboree. The squad led by All-American Lillian Badaru who won the individual title, placed three runners in the top five and five in the top 20 of the race. The team total of 35 points beat second place Kansas by 73 points.
Tech is the fourth Big 12 school ranked in the poll. Iowa State is the highest at seventh, Baylor is 12th and Colorado is 19th.
Tech cross country will send a men's squad and two women runners to the South Plains College Cross Country Festival this Saturday in Levelland, Texas. The next race for the women's team will be the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., on Sat., October 24.
