
Markovic, Breler Fall in Challenger First Round

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis doubles team of Michael Breler and Sinisa Markovic fell, 6-4, 6-4, to the duo of Michael McClune and Stephen Amritraj in the first round of the $50,000 Lubobock Challenger's main draw Tuesday at Tech's McLeod Tennis Center.
Markovic and Breler would go up 3-0 early in the first set, before surrendering five-straight games. The Red Raiders were tied 3-3 in the second set but would drop three of the next four games to close the match.
Tech's two other doubles teams will both be in action Wednesday, beginning at around 4 p.m., as David Gonzalez and Gonzalo Escobar will face the draw's top-seeded team of Dusan Vemic and Alex Bogomolob Jr. Christian Rojmar and Raony Carvalho will face Todd Widom and Jesse Witten in the second round of the main draw.
