
Tech Doubles Teams Advance in Lubbock Challenger

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech men's tennis team had two doubles teams win and advance Monday in the $50,000 Lubbock Challenger held at Tech's McLeod Tennis Center.
David Gonzalez and Gonzalo Escobar opened the day for the Red Raiders by advancing to the doubles main draw by defeating the team of Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski, 6-4, 7-6 (8). The duo will next face the top-seeded team in the draw of Dusan Vemic and Alex Bogomolov Jr.
In the first round of the doubles main draw, Christian Rojmar and Raony Carvalho defeated the third-seeded team in the field, Alberto Francis and Nicholas Monroe, 6-3, 6-4.
Tech's only singles competitor, Sinisa Markovic, fell in the first round to Ivo Klec, 6-4, 6-2. Markovic and Michael Breler will look to continue Tech's streak of doubles success tomorrow night at 6 p.m. when the duo faces Michael McClune and Stephen Amritraj.
