Texas Tech Meets Mississippi State in Legends Classic

The Red Raiders play the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the consolation game of the Legends Classic in Newark, New Jersey after dropping their first game of the Classic to Pittsburgh, 80-67.
The score was tied five times and the lead changed eight times in the contest with Pittsburgh. The Panthers held a 37-27 lead at the half as the Red Raiders shot .333 from the field (10-of-30) to Pittsburgh's .406 (13-of-32). Tech managed to shoot .382 (13-of-34) and score 40 points in the second half while Pittsburgh made 17-of-33 attempts (.515) and added 43 points to their first half total.
Red Raider Trevor Cook and Pittsburgh's Sam Young each scored 24 points to share game honors. Mike Singletary was the only other Tech player to reach double figures with 15 points. Alan Voskuil grabbed a team best eight rebounds while John Roberson led Tech with eight assists. The Raiders had a season low of ten turnovers in the game. Saturday's game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs will tip at 4:30 PM (Central). The Bulldogs fell to the Washington State Cougars in Friday's meeting, 63-52. Kodi Augustus, Barry Stewart, and Romero Osby each scored ten points for the Bulldogs.
