
Carvalho Moves Into ITA Singles Consolation Finale

LUBBOCK, Texas - Freshman Raony Carvalho advanced to the finals in the singles consolation bracket Saturday at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Carvalho began the day needing only one set to get by Oklahoma's Andrei Daescu, who retired after falling in the opening set, 6-1. In his semifinal match, Carvalho took a straight-set victory over Houston Barrick of Virginia, winning 6-3, 6-4, to advance to Sunday's finals.
In the semifinals of the doubles main draw, Carvalho and senior Christian Rojmar were edged in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, by Jonas Berg and Bram ten Berge of Mississippi.
