LUBBOCK, Texas - After a successful showing at the National Collegiate Indoor Championships, Texas Tech men's tennis put the cap on their 2007 fall schedule. The doubles pair of Bojan Szumanski and Christian Rojmar went 2-2 on the weekend, going up against some of the top players in the country.
After being the first doubles team in program history to qualify for the National Indoors, the two received a No. 3 seed into the 16-team draw. Rojmar and Szumanski came up short against Southern California's No. 21-ranked pair of Robert Farah and Kaes Van't Hof, losing 8-6 in the first round.
In the consolation bracket the two worked their way to the finals by defeating teams from both Ohio State and Miami. In the finals, the Red Raider duo had a chance to retaliate on the No. 2 seed from Mississippi Jonas Berg and Erling Tveit, who won in their last meeting at the ITA All-American. The Tech pair couldn't quite find a break against the Ole Miss's hard-hitting duo, falling 8-4.
The Red Raiders return to action on Jan. 26, 2008, as they host Texas-Pan American at the McLeod Tennis Center. For more information and further results, visit www.texastech.com.
