
Red Raider Doubles Edged at National Indoor Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas - The top doubles duo for the Texas Tech men's tennis team fell today at the 2007 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Hosted by Ohio State, the No.10-ranked duo of Christian Rojmar and Bojan Szumanski will continue play tomorrow in the consolation.
After being the first doubles team in program history to qualify for the National Indoors, the two received a No. 3 seed into the 16-team draw. In the first round, Rojmar and Szumanski went head-to-head against Southern California's No. 21-ranked pair of Robert Farah and Kaes Van't Hof.
With the score deadlocked at 6-6, Tech had a chance to break the Trojan duo who was down 15-40. Van't Hof was able to rally his team back into the match, pushing USC on to take the 8-6 win over the Raiders. Of the four seeded pairs in the main draw, Tech was one of three seeded teams to fall in the first round of play.
