
Szumanski Falls in Singles Play at All-American

LINCOLN, Neb. - Participating in the 2007 Polo/Ralph Lauren Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-American Invite, senior Bojan Szumanski represented the Texas Tech men's tennis team today in the main singles draw in Tulsa, Okla. Tech's top doubles team of Szumanski and Christian Rojmar won against Virginia in the first round of play.
No. 22 Szumanski made quick work of Notre Dame's ITA All-American Sheeva Parbhu, 6-3, 6-0, in the first round. Round two proved not as easy for the Red Raider as he was topped by Florida's No. 10-ranked Greg Ouellette, 6-3, 6-1.
In the first round of the doubles bracket, the No. 10 doubles duo of Szumanski and Rojmar defeated Virginia's No. 24 Houston Barrick and Dominic Inglot, 8-6. They next play tomorrow, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. against the winner between Ohio State's No. 7 team of Drew Eberly and Justin Kronauge or Oklahoma's Federico Chavarria and Andrei Daescu.
