
Red Raider Doubles Fall in Finals of ITA Regional

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech men's tennis wrapped up play today at the 2007 ITA South Central Regionals in Austin, Texas. Tech's duo of Michael Breler and Sinisa Markovic led the team in doubles, going 4-1, and Ilya Babinciuc fell in the semi-finals of the singles consolation.
After knocking off the No. 1, 5 and 3 seeds, Breler and Markovic came up short against the No. 4-seed Longhorn pair of Luis Diaz Barriga and Kellen Damico, 8-3, in the finals. The Red Raider team ended the week going 4-1, 2-0 against ranked opponents. In the semi-finals of the singles consolation, Babinciuc was stalled by Texas A&M's Matt Bain, losing 6-4, 6-3.
