
Red Raiders Face Tough Field in Midland

LUBBOCK, Texas - With the fall schedule well under way, the Texas Tech men's tennis team sent three players to compete in the 2007 Midland Racquet Club Invitational. Play begins Fri., Oct. 12, at 9 a.m. in Midland, Texas.
Senior Bojan Szumanski leads his team in hopes of repeating last year's performance, in which he clinched the singles championship. Also competing in singles will be Christian Rojmar who will face UCLA's Nick Melster, and Ilya Babinciuc taking on Dmitry Minkin from Texas-Arlington. After advancing to the semi-finals at the ITA All-Americans last weekend, the No. 10 duo of Szumanski and Rojmar will also represent the team in doubles action.
The participating schools for this year's draw includes Arkansas, Arizona, Baylor, Boise State, LSU, Miami, New Mexico, North Texas, Pepperdine, Rice, SMU, St. Edwards, TCU, Texas, Texas-Arlington, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and UCLA.
