LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior Andrew Dresser received PING All-America third team honors, which was announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Dresser is the sixth Red Raider to earn PING All-America status, and the second this season as teammate Oscar Floren was named first team All-America earlier this week.
Dresser was an instrumental part in the Red Raiders' success this season as he appeared in all 13 tournaments and finished the year with a 72.1 stroke average. Dresser's best finish came at the Hyatt Plantation Club Intercollegiate, which he tied for first with teammate Floren. Additionally, his play helped in the Red Raiders ranking as high as ninth during the season and competing in the NCAA Championships for the sixth time in the program's history.
Dresser is the second golfer to be named to the PING third team as Bryan Novoa was a third-team selection in 1996. Floren was the first Red Raider in the program's history to receive PING All-America first team honors. The PING All-America program has been honoring collegiate golfers annually since 1958.
