
Tennis Names Three to Honor Roll

Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech tennis named three of its student-athletes to the 2006 Academic All-Big 12 team, it was announced by the conference today. The Big 12 Championships are scheduled for Thursday-Sunday at the Baylor Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
On the men's squad, junior Dimitrio Martinez is the lone Red Raider to make the list. He is a first-team honoree (3.20 GPA or higher) and is majoring in economics and political science. Martinez plays No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles with Michael Breler.
On the women's side, senior Katja Kovacic is a first-team honoree as an English major and junior Lakann Wagley was named to the second-team (3.00-3.19 GPA) and is majoring in business administration.
Kovacic has spent most of the spring playing No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles with Erin Hunter. Wagley is a member of the No. 1 doubles team with Tara Browning and spent most of the spring playing No. 4 singles.
