Red Raiders Arrive In Phoenix

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Texas Tech Red Raiders, coaches, staff and families arrived in Phoenix, Ariz. earlier today as the team begins it preparations for the 2006 Insight Bowl against Minnesota.
The Red Raiders departed Lubbock mid-morning on Christmas Eve and received a warm greeting from about 60 members of the Fiesta Bowl Committe and the Tempe Diablos upon their arrival at the Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort.
The team immediately hit the practice field at Scottsdale's Desert Mountain High School where the Red Raiders held a brief walk through session. The first full practice is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Tonight, the entire Texas Tech contingent will enjoy a Christmas Eve dinner at the hotel.
The Red Raiders face Minnesota at 7 p.m. (CT) on Friday at Sun Devil Stadium and tickets are still available.
