
Texas Tech Faces Arkansas in Little Rock

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (8-3) travel to Little Rock, Arkansas, for their match-up with the Arkansas Razorbacks (8-1) in the ALLTEL Arena. Saturday's game tips off at 1 PM (Central) on ESPN 2.
Brad Nessler will deliver the play-by-play with Jimmy Dykes and Steve Lavin providing the analysis.
For each game this season, Steve Dale will call the courtside action along with Ted Chidester as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network (KKAM 1340 AM), the flagship station for the Red Raiders.
With the Red Raider win over Centenary last Saturday, Coach Bob Knight now has 877 career wins, which moves him ahead of Adolph Rupp's 876-career total. Retired UNC Tarheel coach Dean Smith holds the top spot with 879 career wins.
Sixteen Red Raiders saw action against the Centenary Gents. Jay Jackson led all Texas Tech scorers with 25 points. Charlie Burgess was 9-for-9 from the field and made both three-point attempts for 20 points. Martin Zeno added 11 points and 7 assists. Texas Tech led by twenty-one points at the half (51-30) and outscored the Gents 47-34 in the second half for their 98-64 home win. It was the fifth home win for the Raiders in the 2006-2007 season.
The Red Raiders opened the 2006-2007 season with four home wins (Sam Houston State, Gardner-Webb, UALR, and North Dakota State) and then suffered two neutral-site losses to #16 Marquette and Air Force in the CBE Classic semi-finals and consolation game as well as a neutral site contest against Stanford in San Jose, California. The Raiders won at UTEP (94-77) on November 25, at TCU (70-60) on November 29, and at Louisiana Tech (66-59) on December 6.
Jarrius Jackson's 22.2 ppg is currently tops in the Big 12 Conference. Martin Zeno is ninth with 15.7 ppg. Jay's 31 points against UTEP was his best this season and his third game with 30+ points in his career. Jay has scored in double-figures in 41-of-43 games over the past two seasons and he has scored 20 (or more) points in 27 of those games.
After the Arkansas game, the Red Raiders return to the United Spirit Arena for four games. They host Bucknell on December 23 at 3:30 PM. After Christmas, the Raiders play UNLV on December 28 at 8 PM. New Mexico comes to the United Spirit Arena on New Year's Day for an 11 AM tip-off. The first conference game of the 2006-2007 season for the Raiders will be on January 6 against Oklahoma at 12:30 PM.
