LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech fans unable to attend the Insight Bowl can still become involved by participating in the "Send a Soldier" program, initiated by the athletics department to provide game tickets for military personnel. The tickets will be used for soldiers at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix and those in the surrounding areas.
"This program is yet another manner in which we can reach out to the community and do something for the military personnel in the Phoenix area," Tech Director of Athletics Gerald Myers said. "Our fans have been tremendous in the past in helping us sell our allotment of tickets to the bowl game. Texas Tech has a great reputation among bowls with the support we receive for postseason games.
"We would like to encourage fans to purchase one to a block of 100 or more tickets to support the `Send a Soldier' campaign."
Tickets for the Dec. 29 game against Minnesota are $55 and can be purchased through the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Orders for the "Send a Soldier" program will be taken in person or via phone at (888) GO-BIG-12 or (806) 742-4412.
Texas Tech and Minnesota kickoff the Insight Bowl on Dec. 29 at 7:05 p.m. CT on the NFL Network.
