
Floren Improves to 10th in World Amateur

CAPE TOWN, South Africa - After shooting 3-over in the first round, Texas Tech senior Oscar Floren fired a 6-under 66 in the second round of the World Amateur Team Championship on Friday. Floren finished the first day with a 75 to tie for 63rd, but moved to a tie for 10th after the second day. The Sweden native has turned in rounds of 75-66--141 to sit four shots back from the leader.
Floren is participating in a team of three for Sweden, which moved to fifth place after day two. Floren's Swedish teammate Bjorn Akesson also fired a 6-under 66 on the day, while the third member, Niklas Lemke, hit a 1-under 71. The combination of Floren and Akesson's rounds tied for the lowest single day team score in the history of the event.
