ITA Rankings Announced

Lubbock, Texas- Texas Tech junior Bojan Szumanski, of the men's tennis team, is ranked no. 21 in the country among active collegiate athletes, it was announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Szumanski, a native of Opoloe, Poland, ended the 2005 season with a rank of 47th. Szumanski was honored as an Academic All-American and was named to the District VI All-Academic team. Szumanski was 26-9 in singles play and was 17-11 in doubles action. His 26 victories are tied for second on Tech's single-season list for victories.

The Red Raiders will host the USTA Challenger Tournament in Lubbock, next week. Szumanski will be playing in the tournament after receiving a wild card spot.
