Martinez Concludes World University Games

Lubbock, Texas- Dimitrio Martinez, a junior on the Texas Tech men's tennis team, was defeated in the second round of play at the World University Games in Izmir, Turkey, this weekend.
Martinez, after receiving a bye in the opening round of play, was defeated by Jan Riha of the Czech Republic, 6-4, 6-2, at the Karsiyaka Tennis Center.
During the 2005 season, Martinez won his individual match clinching Tech's victory over Texas A&M. Martinez was also victorious against Wake Forest and Ole Miss playing in the sixth position.
Red Raider tennis will open their fall season at the Texas A&M Invitational, Sept. 9-11, in College Station, Texas.
