Lubbock, Texas - Tech junior, Bojan Szumanski, fell in the opening round of play at ITA All-American Championships, in Tulsa, Okla., this morning.
Szumanski, Tech's No. 1 player, fell to No. 15 Kevin Anderson of Illinois, 7-5, 6-7, 7-6, in three-hour heartbreaker.
"Bojan came up just short today," said head coach Tim Siegel. "It was a great effort and he will learn from this match. Kevin Anderson really won this match, Bojan didn't lose."
Szumanksi will face Max Jones of New Mexico, in the consolation round, at 1:30 p.m. today.
