
Red Raider Tennis Completes Day Two at Texas Invitational

Lubbock, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team completed day two of competition at the Texas Invitational, in Austin, Texas, on Saturday.
In singles action, Bojan Szumanski topped Brian Wooten of Texas A&M, 6-4, 7-6, in the quarterfinals of the main draw. The Tech junior then fell to Michal Kokta of Baylor, 6-4, 6-2, in the semifinal round of the main draw.
In the singles consolation draw, Michael Breler fell to Luis Diaz-Barriga of Texas, 6-3, 6-3, in the quarterfinals. Christian Rojmar cruised over Niels Buksik of UT-Arlington, 6-2, 6-1, in the quarterfinals. He then went on to defeat Daniel Omana of UT-Arlington, 3-6, 6-0, 6-0, in the semifinals.
In doubles play, in the quarterfinal round, Szumanski and Rojmar edged Meythaler and Riley of Virginia, 9-8. The pair then went on to top Diaz-Barriga and Mihalovic of Texas, 8-4, to advance to the finals.
In the doubles consolation draw, after advancing by default, teammates Breler and Dimitrio Martinez faced Teddy DiBlasi and Jay Wofford, also of the Red and Black, in the semifinal round. Breler and Martinez came out on top by a score of 8-3. Breler and Martinez went on to edge Agis and Buksik of UT-Arlington, 8-6, in the finals.
