Texas Tech Falls Short Against New Mexico, 5-0

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - The Texas Tech women's soccer team lost to the Lobos of the University of New Mexico, 5-0 at the UNM Soccer Complex this afternoon. The Red Raiders fall to a record of 1-2 during the second weekend of play. The Lobo offense proved to be too strong for the Red Raider defense this afternoon as New Mexico out shot Texas Tech 23-6 while tallying 11 shots on goal. The Red Raiders tallied three shots on goal from freshman Ashley Reed, junior Karen Stephens and sophomore Jenna Wetzel. Freshman Tina Rincon got the start in goal and played the entire match. She made six saves while allowing five goals. Texas Tech women's soccer heads back to the pitch Sun., Sept. 5 against the Vikings of Portland State at 2 p.m. at the UNM Soccer Complex.
