No. 2 Notre Dame Defeats Texas Tech, 3-0

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team was defeated by No. 2 Notre Dame, 3-0, in front of a home crowd of 1,755 this afternoon. The Red Raiders held the Fighting Irish to 11 shots on goal when they have been averaging 16 per game.
Junior Beth Lippert, who had posted a 2-0 record over the past two series, got the start in goal for the Red Raiders, playing all 90 minutes. She made seven saves, bringing her save total to 15 on the season. Her record dropped to 2-1.
Texas Tech battled the Fighting Irish for four shots and two shots on goal. Freshman Ashley Reed and sophomore Jenna Wetzel each registered a shot on goal.
Valliant defensive efforts were made by sophomores Meghan Blume and Ana Morton, freshman Alex Aton, senior Allison Seifert and Lippert through out the game.
"This was a great experience for us and for Notre Dame," said head coach Felix Oskam. "If you want to be the best, you have to play the best. We will be a better team after playing a team like Notre Dame."
