
Texas Tech Men's Tennis Handles New Mexico State

Lubbock, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis improved to 5-2 on the season with a decisive win over New Mexico State, 5-1, Sunday morning at the McLeod Tennis Center. The teams only played in singles action due to weather conditions.
In singles action, the Red Raiders dominated taking five of the six matches. Tech's only loss came at the No. 6 position where Tyler Lyon defeated Rodney Vickers in a close match, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6. Tech Coach Tim Siegel was pleased with the victory.
"It was a good team effort today. We played well and bounced back from our loss on Friday," Siegel said. "Overall I was really pleased with our play and look forward to our next match."
The Red Raiders will travel to Corpus Christi to play in the H.E.B. Classic March 5-7. Tech's first opponent is still undetermined.
