Red Raiders Open 2004-2005 Season With Scrimmage on Thursday

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raiders open the 2004-2005 season with the first of two scrimmages Thursday night at the United Spirit Arena. Tip-off will be at 7:00 p.m.
The Raiders will begin the season with a roster featuring twelve players. The squad is comprised of three seniors, six sophomores, three freshmen, and the winningest coach in Division One basketball. All PSL and season ticket holders have received tickets for themselves and one guest for each scrimmage. All Texas Tech students are admitted free of charge to each scrimmage. General Admission tickets to the scrimmages can be purchased for $5.00 each.
Thursday's scrimmage will not have television or radio coverage. The second and final scrimmage of the 2004-2005 season will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, in the United Spirit Arena. The Red Raider squad begins non-conference play on Friday, November 19, as the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs visit the United Spirit Arena. This marks the first meeting between the two teams. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Texas Tech Television Network will televise the game with coverage provided outside the Lubbock area.
The Centenary tip-off time has been moved from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, as a result of the Red Raiders' season finale against Oklahoma State being picked up by FSN with the kickoff at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, at Jones SBC Stadium. John Harris begins his second season as "The Voice of the Red Raiders" on KQBR (99.5 FM) and KKAM (1340 AM), the flagship station on the All Sports Radio Network.
