
Tech Soccer Falls Short to Iowa State, 3-0

AMES, Iowa- The Texas Tech women's soccer team was defeated by the Iowa State Cyclones, 3-0, at the ISU Soccer Complex this afternoon. Offensive mainstay Priscilla Esquivel notched two shots on goal during the match.
The Red Raiders got off eight shots against the Cyclones, as five were shots on goal. The Cyclone offense dominated the first 30 minutes as Iowa State scored three goals from two different players. Amy Flores of Iowa State had the first and third goals of the game.
The Red Raider front line was led by freshman Priscilla Esquivel who tallied two shots on goal, bringing her season total to 12. Freshman Jenifer Thomas and junior Karen Stephens also took a shot on goal each. Thomas now has seven shots on goal for the season and Stephens recorded her third shot on goal.
Freshman Tina Rincon and Junior Beth Lippert saw action in goal during today's match. Rincon got the start in goal for Tech and made four saves while allowing three goals. Lippert replaced Rincon at the half and made four saves as she shut out Iowa State during the second half.
The Red Raiders return to R.P. Fuller stadium Fri., Oct. 8, at 7 p.m., as they host the Oklahoma State Cowgirls at Fan Appreciation Day. Tickets for the 2004 season are available by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 742-TECH (8324) or (888) GO-BIG-12.
